======Notifications======

Notifications from //Geminars// are handled via a dedicated application installed on your phone.  You can download and install //ntfy.app// [[https://ntfy.sh/docs|from here.]] They have an app for both Androids as well as iPhones. It is a free app.

If you do not choose to install the app, you can receive the notification in your browser too. Just go to your profile dialog in //Geminars// and click on the notification link there.

====Ntfy.sh Settings====
To receive the notifications on the app, you need to //subscribe// to a topic. A //Topic ID// is created specifically for you. Go to your profile dialog in Geminars, and you can copy it from there.  

Secondly, you should //also// configure the server. That one would be **https://ntfy.spoke.today** 

The server from where you would receive the notification has to be the one given above. Else, you will not receive the notifications.

====Quirks====
Notifications work quite well on Android: That means, whenever you receive a notification from //Geminars//, the phone would alert you (Unless of course, you set your phone to not show them)  However; lately on iPhones, there is a quirk due to the changes in their privacy policy: It may not alert you; so you may need to occasionally look at your phone to see if you have indeed received any notifications from //Geminars//. I believe the author of ntfy.sh is aware of this quirk and is possibly working on a remedy.

**IMPORTANT** The notifications on the phone are only handled by the aforementioned //ntfy.sh// app installed on that phone.
